Pet Of the Week

Sophie

Sophie is staying inside a garage until a foster family or permanent home comes forward to help her. She loves dogs and is a playful and affectionate lap cat.

The 1 1/2 -year-old torti calico was a kitten when she was adopted from our network in 2008.

At that time, the single woman adopting was instructed that her choice to adopt a kitten and place it in a home with a senior cat was not recommended.

However, over the last two years her senior cat was playfully attacked by the active kitten until play turned into stalking and terrorizing the older animal.

Kittens should be adopted in pairs while households with older cats should adopt pets in the same age and activity range.

The original pet-parent was unwilling to take responsibility and house the cat and drive Sophie to and from the weekend adoption events at Fashion Island.

Call (949) 749-3646 to help Sophie or come meet her and other cats and kittens for adoption from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fashion Island, sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.
