IRVINE — Sea Kings senior Reed Williams scored two goals Friday at Irvine High in his return from a five-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

Williams has now scored 21 goals this season and helped CdM improve to 13-1-1, 2-1-1 in the Pacific Coast League.

“He looked good,” CdM Coach George Larsen said of Williams, the UCLA-bound striker. “He played about two-thirds of the game. He definitely gave us a lift.”

Brian Ford and Chris Burke also returned from injuries for the Sea Kings, ranked No. 19 in the nation by ESPN RISE.

Freshman Jack McBean scored one goal and created a penalty shot for Williams when he was taken down in the 18-yard box. Matt Francini capped the scoring, while Paul Zubatov and Burked provided an assist each for CdM, which had not played in a week because of the rain.

Friday’s game was scheduled to play at CdM, but the fields were too muddy and the game was moved to Irvine.

The Sea Kings did not play Wednesday against San Juan Hills, but will take on the Stallions Monday at 3 p.m. at San Juan Hills.
