CORONA DEL MAR — Senior striker Reed Williams scored twice in the second half in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.

CdM (15-1-1, 4-1-1 in league) moves into second place in league.

Jack McBean assisted on Williams’ first goal in the 59th minute. Jack Gorab had the second assist in the 76th minute.

Connor Gaal made eight saves and recorded his eighth shutout.

CdM, ranked No. 3 in the CIF Southern Section Division IV coaches’ poll, is at Irvine on Friday at 3:15 p.m.

COSTA MESA — The Mustangs moved into first place in the Orange Coast League at Estancia High Wednesday.

Junior Jesus Estrada scored the first goal. Then sophomore Jorge Sanchez followed with one of his own before halftime, on an assist from senior Kevin Diaz.

With about 25 minutes left, junior Dong-gi Shin scored to give Costa Mesa (9-4-2, 3-1-1 in league) a 3-0 lead. Senior goalie Irvin Dorantes had seven saves for the Mustangs, who will face Godinez Friday at 4:45 p.m., again at Jim Scott Stadium.

CORONA DEL MAR — Victoria Kent had four goals to lead eight Sea Kings who scored in the Pacific Coast League home contest Wednesday.

Diana Murphy had three goals, while Ally McCormick, Cassidy Papa and Pippa Saunders added two apiece for the winners (13-6, 3-0 in league).

Papa added three steals and two assists.

CdM, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division I, plays host to Montebello Saturday at 10 a.m.

LAGUNA BEACH — Senior Brian Waldron scored 12 points for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Wednesday night.

Senior Connor Metcalf added eight points for Costa Mesa (2-20, 0-5 in league), which will play host to Godinez Friday at 7 p.m.
