Katie Bergsma had eight points and 11 rebounds for CdM (13-10, 3-4 in league). Gabby Rapp hit a go-ahead free throw with 20 seconds left.

NEWPORT COAST — Senior forward Hannah Jeffrey had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Lightning in the Academy League game Friday night.

Sophomore guard Ava Soleimany added 10 points for Sage Hill (8-8, 3-3 in league).

LAKE FOREST — Senior Kate Klippert had four goals, five steals and three assists for the Sailors in the nonleague game Friday.

Senior Katie Jackson contributed three goals for Newport Harbor (15-3), which welcomed back Kaleigh Gilchrist. The senior, who scored two goals and had an assist, earned a ninth-place finish at the International Surfing Assn. World Junior Championships in New Zealand. She arrived just in time for the game.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Irvine 46

IRVINE — Danny Cheek had 14 points to help keep the Sea Kings undefeated in the Pacific Coast League Friday night.

Austin Quon added 12 points and Parker Stone had 11 points for CdM (19-3, 7-0 in league).

Ramon Mejia contributed seven points and Clayton Ragsdale finished with six points and seven assists.

The Sea Kings play at University Tuesday at 7 p.m. The contest will be televised as the Cox3 Game of the Week.

NEWPORT COAST — Mark Loper had 23 points in the Lightning’s Academy League game Friday.

Frank Shapiro had 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Kevin Schaefer and Connor Gaughan had 11 points each for Sage (14-5, 4-2 in league).

Godinez 56, Costa Mesa 53

COSTA MESA — Junior center Andrew Albers finished with 16 points in the Mustangs’ Orange Coast League game Friday.

Adam Hulisz had 11 points for Costa Mesa (2-21, 0-6 in league).

IRVINE — Noosha Deravi scored a goal and set up another in the Lightning’s Academy League game Friday.

Alex Thomas connected on a penalty kick after Deravi was taken down in the box. Maddie Culberson also scored and Rannah Dabiri added an assist for Sage Hill (8-6-2, 5-1 in league).

Goalie Hannah MacLeod had five saves for the Lightning.
