Cal State Bakersfield 68, UC Irvine 55

BAKERSFIELD — Sophomore Eric Wise had 18 points to lead the Anteaters in the nonconference road game Wednesday.

Jonas Lalehzadeh and Derrick Strings had eight points apiece for UCI (9-14), which shot 34.5% from the field and was five of 20 from three-point range.

Senior Michael Hunter was one for seven from the field and had three points.

MISSION VIEJO — Chris Williams had a game-high 27 points for the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Wednesday.

Williams was 11 of 18 from the field and five of six from the foul line and also had a team-best four assists.

OCC fell to 9-14, 3-5, while the Gauchos are now 21-4, 6-2.
