Race clinic available

The Balboa Yacht Club invites applications for invitations to its inaugural National Youth Match Race Clinic and Regatta.

The clinic will be taking place in Newport Pier by the ocean in the afternoons of May 14 through May 16.

The event has been organized to attract the attention of youth match-racing talent from across the United States.

The winner of this event automatically gets a berth in the Governor’s Cup international junior match race championship this year, other top finishers will be considered by the Governor’s Cup Selection Committee.

The emphasis during this inaugural regatta will be focused on building match-racing skills, as well as testing those skills in a formal regatta. The Balboa Yacht Club will provide coaching resources available to the racers.
