Police seeking bank robber

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a bank robbery suspect who hit a Huntington Beach bank Friday.

The unidentified man in a San Diego Chargers baseball hat, a dark hooded sweat shirt and black wrap-around sunglasses walked into the Bank of America at 20061 Brookhurst St. and demanded large bills from the teller before fleeing on foot, according to Lt. Russell Reinhart.

The man waited in the customer line at around 3:15 p.m. Friday until his turn came. When he reached the teller, he displayed a note asking for large bills, but didn’t show any weapon. The man took the note back and left the bank on foot when he received his money. Witnesses didn’t see any vehicle, Reinhart said.

The man is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, a light-skinned Hispanic, five-foot-10 to six feet, about 220 pounds and clean-shaven with long sideburns.

Officials believe the man could be responsible for a recent Fountain Valley bank robbery on Brookhurst. In the Fountain Valley incident, the suspect was seen in a white Toyota pickup truck, Reinhart said.
