FRESNO — Senior guard Bridgette Reyes led four Lions in double figures with 22 points and she added nine assists and six rebounds in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Thursday.

Jaclyn Blied (18 points), Sarah Boyd (15) and Rachel Copeland (13) also chipped in for the winners (17-2, 13-2 in conference).

FRESNO — Senior Greg Scott had 35 points to pace the visiting Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Thursday.

Scott was 13 of 19 from the field, including five of seven from three-point range for Vanguard (5-16, 4-11).

COSTA MESA — Nicole Naughton won, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles to highlight the host Pirates’ nonconference triumph Thursday.

Anna Walinowicz (No. 5 singles) won 12 of 14 games and Nicole Rorick (No. 6 singles) won 12 of 15 for OCC (3-0).

LOS ANGELES — No. 1 singles player Stephanie Hammel led the Anteaters’ sweep in the nonconference match Thursday.

Courtney Byron, Brooke Bartlett, Becka Kwan, Kristina Smith and Hannah Holladay also won in singles for UCI (2-2).

COSTA MESA — Brad Fisher and three other Pirates won in singles and doubles in the nonconference match Thursday at OCC.

Matt Miller, Jesse Chen and Kevin Tran also won in singles and doubles for the Pirates (3-0).

TRACK AND FIELD

OCC season opener

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Pirates’ men’s and women’s teams each won handily Thursday at Golden West.

The OCC men won, 114-40, and the Pirates women’s team won, 113-35.

OCC’s Liana Fuentes won five events for the women. Donovan Toban won three events, while Ethan Rutley and Sergio Olivarrias won three events each.

KANEOHE, Hawaii — The visiting Lions had four hits in 12 combined innings of the nonconference doubleheader Thursday.

April Glenn had Vanguard’s lone hit in the five-inning Game 2, after Stephanie Leisenring, Angela St. Croix and Amanda Young had singles in the seven-inning Game 1.

Vanguard is 2-4.
