Van hits student in OCC parking lot
An Orange Coast College student was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being hit by a van driving in the Costa Mesa campus parking lot, campus officials said.
About 9:45 a.m. the student was walking through the Adams Avenue parking lot when he was struck, said Chief of Campus Security John Farmer. It was a minor accident, and the student complained of back and leg pain, he said.
The student was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach.
The driver was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian.
