Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who tried to rob a Chase Bank in Costa Mesa Tuesday morning.

About 10:35 a.m. a man walked into the bank on East 17th Street and demanded cash from a bank teller, threatening to shoot her and acting like he had a gun behind his back, police said.

He walked out without getting any money.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5-foot-8, 170 pounds and between 45 and 50 years old.
