Montage offers wellness retreats

Spa Montage is offering specially designed wellness retreats for pregnant women and those who want to explore a raw food diet.

“The Prenatal Gift of Giving Life” will be from March 21 to 24, led by Dana Sara of White Lotus Yoga at Cho’s Academy. Designed to ensure a healthy pregnancy and post-partum recovery, the retreat includes remineralizing beach walks and prenatal workshops that incorporate stretching, meditation, yoga, belly dancing and diet recommendations.

The retreat is $3,640 per person, including three nights of oceanfront accommodations; three two-hour prenatal workshops; two 60-minute spa treatments, two Thalassic beach walks, three meditation sessions and unlimited access to spa and fitness facilities; and nine meals plus snack breaks.

A Day of Renewal for pregnant women, March 22 or March 23, costs $375 per person and includes a beach walk, one two-hour prenatal workshop, one-hour mediation, spa lunch and gift.

Prenatal workshops are also offered.

The Art of Living Raw, a three-day retreat, will be from April 18 to 20. Natural wellness educator Susie Sondag, owner of Opulent Living, will teach participants how to incorporate fresh, organic and raw whole foods into the diet, and how to enhance healing and anti-aging processes. Also offered are “A Day of Living Raw,” or a special one-hour lecture.

The Art of Living Raw Retreat is $1,135 per person.

Merchants may march with chamber

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce is inviting merchants to join them in the Patriot’s Day Parade “Merchants March” on March 6.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Laguna Beach High School, 625 Park Ave.

Merchants may join the march with their signs at 10:45 a.m. at the chamber’s “General Store.”

Business workshop is Wednesday

A series of “Open for Business” workshops for business owners and others interested in opening or expanding businesses in Laguna Beach will be hosted by the city.

The next meeting will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Laguna Beach Community Center, 380 Third St. These meeting are being organized by the city’s Business Promotion Task Force.

“We are reaching out to business owners, building owners, commercial Realtors and other professionals to let everyone know that we want to help entrepreneurs realize their vision in Laguna Beach,” according to Mayor and Task Force Co-chairwoman Elizabeth Pearson.

“As a small-business owner myself, I can tell you that our civic leadership understands the importance of having a vibrant, successful business community in Laguna. Most of our 25,000 or so residents and 3 million annual visitors are affluent, sophisticated consumers. They are an excellent customer base for our local businesses,” Pearson said.

Workshop participants will include members of the Planning Commission, key city staff, Chamber of Commerce officials and successful local business owners, according to Planning Commission Chairwoman Anne Johnson, who has helped organize the meetings.

Other members of the task force subcommittee which is helping to organize these events include Mayor Pro Tem Toni Iseman, Planning Commissioner Linda Dietrich, designer-builder Gregg Abel, Design Review Task Force chairman Matt Lawson, architect and former Design Review Board Chairman Lance Polster, local businessman Armando Baez, and Realtor Cary Glenn.
