NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors’ Zach Eddy shared medalist honors with the Knights’ Joe Moser, as both shot one-over-par 37 in a nonleague match Thursday at Big Canyon Country Club.

Kawika Morse and James Wall both shot 38, while Travis Russell (41) and Carter Norris (42) also scored for Newport Harbor (2-0).

The Sailors will face Dana Hills Tuesday at Monarch Beach Golf Links.

COSTA MESA — Jake Knapp shot even-par 36 for the Eagles in the nonleague match Thursday at Mesa Verde Country Club.

Knapp carded pars on each of the nine holes. Ryan Burns (41), Jake Stone (43), Spencer Roberts (48) and Junior Ramirez (49) also scored for Estancia (0-3).

The Eagles will play against Calvary Chapel Monday at Mile Square Golf Course.

SANTA ANA — Junior Mattias Russo-Larsson had 16 kills and 13 digs to help lead the Lightning to a 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 nonleague win Thursday.

Sophomore Chris Zadra had eight kills and two blocks, senior Jesse Xiao had 33 assists and junior Kenji Gottner had 10 digs for Sage Hill (2-0), which plays against JSerra today at 3 p.m. to start the University High tournament.

NEWPORT BEACH — Tracy Bebli swept at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4, for the Sailors in their season opener Thursday.

Jason Cernius and Troy Arnold swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1, for Newport Harbor.

The Sailors play at Estancia Tuesday.

COSTA MESA — Asher Twardowski and Conner Graham won two events each for the Eagles in the nonleague meet Thursday at Estancia.

Twardowski touched first in the 200-yard individual medley and 500 freestyle. Graham won the 50 free and 100 breaststroke.

Matt Thome had a season-best swim in the 200 free.
