COSTA MESA — Kaitlyn Yamamoto won the 300-meter hurdles and pole vault and Tatiana Williams won the triple jump and long jump to lead the designated host Mustangs in the Orange Coast League opening dual meet Thursday at Estancia High.

Yamamoto was second in the 100 hurdles.

Costa Mesa is 1-0.

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

COSTA MESA — Junior Julian Marquez won both hurdles and the triple jump and was second in the long jump to pace the designated host Mustangs in the Orange Coast League-opening dual meet Thursday at Estancia High.

Senior James Stucker was also a triple winner, topping the field in the 800 meters (2 minutes, 6 seconds), the 1,600 and the 3,200.

Stucker will compete in track and field and cross country next year at Soka University.

BOYS’ TENNIS

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior Tracy Beblie won 18 of 20 games to sweep at No. 1 singles for the visiting Sailors in the nonleague match Thursday.

Chad Morabito, playing with two partners, swept at No. 3 doubles for the Sailors, who also received a sweep from the No. 1 doubles tandem of Troy Arnold and Jason Cernius.

Newport Harbor is 3-2.

Sage Hill is 0-8.

BOYS’ GOLF

COSTA MESA — Eagles sophomore Jake Knapp shot even-par 35 to earn medalist honors for the ninth straight match in nonleague action at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Thursday.

Jake Stone shot 40 and Spencer Roberts followed with a 42 for Estancia (2-7). Ryan Burns (43) and Aaron Wood (46) rounded out the Eagles.

Estancia will compete in the Millikan tournament Monday at El Dorado Golf Course.

San Juan Hills 199

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — John Davenport and Steve Bruno shared medalist honors, shooting a two-over-par 37 in the Pacific Coast League match at Marbella Country Club Thursday.

Not far behind were golfers Tanner Trauthen (38), Mike Moorehead (39) and Jono Keedy (40). This win boosts the Sea Kings record to 7-1. The squad will travel to Oak Creek Golf Course on Monday to take on Irvine High.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors’ Mychael Clark snagged medalist honors with a one-over-par 37 in Thursday’s nonleague match at Big Canyon Country Club.

After grabbing medalist honors in Tuesday’s match against Aliso Niguel, senior Travis Russell continued his low-scoring season, shooting a 39 for Newport Harbor. Zach Eddy and Carter Norris each shot 43, and Kawika Morse shot 46 to help the Sailors improve to 4-2.

Newport Harbor will resume action on Monday against San Juan Hills at Marbella Country Club.

IRVINE — Ahmed Eltanami and Jarredd Hoffman both shot par 36 for the Lightning to share medalist honors in the nonleague match Thursday at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course.

Sage Hill opens Academy League play Monday against Crean Lutheran.

NEWPORT COAST — Amanda Olevsky and Taylor Cordeiro had three goals and one assist apiece to pace the visiting Sailors in the nonleague contest Thursday.

Sierra Michaelson and Zoie Wolfe had two goals and one assist each, while Lexi McCardle had one goal and two assists for Newport Harbor.

Senior goalie Paige More made eight saves for the Sailors.

Newport Harbor ventures to Poway Saturday for the Surf, Sun and Stix Tournament.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Irvine def. Estancia

IRVINE — Kohl Jones had 12 kills for the Eagles in Monday’s 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 nonleague loss.

Estancia’s Austin Knott picked up 14 digs.

The Eagles dropped to 2-5.

Estancia will head to Newport Harbor today for its first match in the Orange County Championships.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

NEWPORT BEACH — Sophomore Riley Robinson scored four goals on seven shots for the Sailors Thursday.

Newport Harbor dropped to 4-2.
