Sea Kings capture honors

Senior Hayley Raguse highlights four Corona del Mar High girls’ soccer players earning All-CIF Southern Section Division II honors.

Raguse, a midfielder, made the first team after helping the Sea Kings (14-9-4) reach the quarterfinals of the playoffs for the second straight season.

Raguse, a repeat first-team selection, recorded eight goals and five assists. Raguse was also a second-team All-Pacific Coast League pick.

The other Sea Kings receiving All-CIF laurels were junior sweeper Kaylee O’Connor, sophomore striker Allyson Brahs and sophomore goalie Sarah Cox.

O’Connor and Brahs made the second team, while Cox was on the third team.

O’Connor was the team’s defensive leader and she scored once and assisted on a goal. O’Connor also made first-team all-league.

Brahs finished with six goals and seven assists. She made first-team all-league.

Cox, a first-team all-league pick, allowed 14 goals in 23 matches. She had seven shutouts and contributed to 13 of the Sea Kings’ 14 victories.

Sophomore defender Sydney Raguse received second-team all-league recognition.
