Many deserving high school girls will have cherished memories of their proms thanks to the efforts of 19 volunteers from Costa Mesa-based Experian. The Heart of Experian, along with hundreds of other community volunteers, recently assisted with the Working Wardrobes’ Cinderellas For Life event.

The 500 Cinderellas, who are all students in the Garden Grove Unified School District, come from low-income or foster families. Many of them might not have even gone to their proms without the assistance of Working Wardrobes.

At the event, the ladies attended a full day of empowering, life-changing workshops and had the opportunity to shop for the perfect prom dress, shoes and accessories. The afternoon was wrapped up with a fashion show and etiquette reminders.

“Corporate Involvement in our organization is vital to our success. Companies, like Experian, who have volunteered and financially supported Working Wardrobes, truly have made an impact in the community and have helped us transform the lives of the 5,000 men, women and young adults we serve each year,” said Mary Lou Torres, Working Wardrobes’ manager of community relations.

Working Wardrobes empowers men, women, and young adults in life crises to confidently enter the workforce with career development and wardrobe services.
