The 24th annual mother and daughter fashion show unfolded at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort on behalf of the National Charity League, Juniors. Event chairwomen Jillian GriffinJillian Griffin, Kimberly Prado and Michelle Yacoel labeled the Saturday-afternoon affair “All You Need Is Love.” National Charity League, Juniors President Maureen Madigan, welcomed the sold-out crowd of 485 guests, who had come in support of sponsored charities, including High Hopes Head Injury Program, Harry and Grace Steele Children’s Center, and the Pediatric Cancer Research Center. By the end of the afternoon $125,000 was raised for the three nonprofits.

The spirited fashion show was produced by Saks Fifth Avenue. The charming Gretchen Pace, general manager at Saks South Coast Plaza, always front and center to support community needs, provided the models for the adult fashions. The children’s fashions, also from Saks Fifth Avenue, were provided courtesy of the Mission Viejo store. Always a highlight of the event are the sixth-grade graduating daughters who model the fashions on the runway.

This season’s class of beautiful young ladies is made up of Alyssa Anderson, Baylee Bakkila, Scarlet Branch, Kabele Cook, Caroline Davin, Kelly Griffin, Madison Kernan, Abigail Klein, Cassidy Kofoed, Emily Labbé, Madeline Lefebvre, Kate Madigan, Kennedy McGuinness, Bridgett Storm and Remy Wilson.

Major underwriting for the league came from the Argyros family, Susan Case and Kim Krotts, Karen Cook, Laurie and Steve Duncan, and the Tomaselli family, to name a few.

Also supporting the National Charity League, Juniors were Susan and Robert Beall, Diane Connelly, Jessica Edward, and the Holder family of Dover Shores.

Highlighting the purpose of the organization, which is to foster a lifelong bond between mother and daughter, specifically relating to promoting community service, the fashionable afternoon began with the sentimental introduction of the sixth-grade mothers and their lovely young children. The mothers devote a tremendous amount of time and effort to the cause and deserve recognition. They are: Suzan Anderson, Corey Bakkila, Amy Branch, Karen Cook, Molly Davin, Jillian Griffin, Ondria Kernan, Heather Klein, Stacy Kofoed, Denise Labbé, Jennifer Lefebvre, Maureen Madigan, Kristen McGuinness, Nora Storm and Kelly Wilson.
