The UCI bullpen made Cusick’s heroics necessary, as Matt Summers gave up two runs and Kyle Necke surrendered one in a three-run eighth inning that erased the Toreros’ 3-0 deficit.

Freshman Evan Brock pitched six shutout innings in his first collegiate start, allowing one hit, striking out five and walking two.

Senior Nick Hoover pitched two scoreless innings to earn the victory and Christian Bergman pitched the 12th to earn his first collegiate save.
