A Long Beach woman filed a claim with the city after a Huntington Beach police officer allegedly hit her vehicle.

Thung Tran, 26, filed a claim, the precursor to a lawsuit, March 31 for an unknown amount after a car accident earlier that month.

Tran was driving along Temple Avenue in Long Beach about noon at the same time Brian Seitz, an on-duty Huntington Beach police officer, was attempting to make a U-turn on Temple Avenue, according to the claim.

As Seitz started to turn his brown Chevy Malibu, the front left of his car “clipped” the right front of Tran’s white Toyota Sienna, according to the claim.

Seitz’s car was towed from the scene, according to the claim.

Seitz was driving his employee car and on duty, said Lt. Russell Reinhart. He immediately reported the incident to the Huntington Beach Police Department, and they are investigating it, Reinhart said.

The incident left Tran with pain in her neck, chest, back and left shoulder and headaches, according to the claim.
