peacefully in her sleep

on April 23, 2010,

after a lengthy battle

with cancer.

Joan was wife to

Elmer H. Thomassen,

M.D. — who died six years ago at the age of 83.

Her abundant legacy includes ten children and

twelve grandchildren.

Joan was an adoring wife, loving mother and lifelong

professional musician. She began playing the cello

at the age of fourteen, and showed her love of music

every day of her life and instilled that love with all her

children and grandchildren.

There will be a prayer vigil on Tuesday, April 27,

from Noon until 1 PM, and Rosary at 1 PM to 2:15

PM, at
