2 major, 5 minor CNPAs

The Coastline Pilot won two major awards and five honorable mentions in the California Newspaper Publishers Assn. Better Newspaper Contest for 2008-09.

The paper won:

?2nd place, Sports Coverage (Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, 2008 editions, Mike Sciacca, reporter);

?2nd place, Sports Photo (March 6, 2009, “That winning feeling,” Kent Treptow, photographer).

In addition, the paper was a Blue Ribbon Finalist in the following categories:

?Editorial Pages (Aug. 7 and 21, 2009 issues); ?Local Breaking News; (“Homeless Crisis” series);

?Special Issue (Coastal Football Preview, September 2009);
