Kathleen Hawkinson
Kathleen Hawkinson, born June 23, 1929 in Los
Angeles, died April 28, 2010 in Newport Beach, California.
She is survived by her loving husband William,
daughter Suzanne Soukup (John), son John Hawkinson
(Alexandra) and son James Hawkinson. She is the beloved
grandmother of Jeff and Laura Soukup and Kristina
Hawkinson. Kathleen was a graduate of the University of
Southern California and affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta
sorority. She taught kindergarden in Los Angeles and retired
to raise her family in Ladera Heights in the Los Angeles
area before moving to Newport Beach in 1969. She
was active in Trojan Guild, the Assistance League of Newport
Beach and the Toy Committee for Hoag Hospital.
She was a member of St. John Vianney Chapel on Balboa
Island and was active in many parish organizations. She
bravely battled brain cancer for two and a half years. Her
family will miss her and loves her dearly.
