SANTA ANA — Andres Gonzalez went four for five with five runs batted in for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Friday.

It was the most runs scored this season by Estancia (14-8, 6-2 in league), which had 20 hits.

Matt Carlyle was three for three with one RBI and three runs, Ryan Boselo was three for four with two RBIs, and Victor Trujillo was three for four with one RBI.

Estancia plays at Laguna Beach Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Calvary Chapel 8

COSTA MESA — Senior Ryan Boulger, junior Tyler Sheffner and sophomore Nathan Alvis hit a home run each to help the Mustangs overcome a 3-0 first-inning deficit in the Orange Coast League game Friday.

The game was played at Costa Mesa, but Calvary was the home team, as it does not have its own diamond.

The Mustangs (13-10, 7-3 in league) began their comeback in the third, when they scored five runs. Alvis hit his first home run of the year, a two-run shot, and Boulger hammered a three-run blast, his seventh of the season. Sheffner later had a solo homer.

Costa Mesa senior Andrew Fulkerson was four for four.

The Mustangs play host to Paramount in a nonleague game Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

Sage Hill 20, Whitney 0

NEWPORT COAST — The Lightning bolted out to a 12-0 lead in the first inning of the Academy League game that ended after five innings Friday.

Sean Vogel was one of four to have two hits for Sage Hill (12-5, 9-2 in league). He went two for three with three runs batted in, a home run, two runs scored and one stolen base.

Dusty Orrantia was two for three with three RBIs, four runs and a walk.

Alex Jimenez went two for four with two RBIs and two runs. Allen Brown was also two for four with two RBIs and a run.

Darren Hardy and Ryan Fishel added two RBIs each.

Pitcher Patrick Vorwerck struck out two and held Whitney hitless and scoreless in two innings, while Brown struck out three and allowed one hit in three innings.

Sage Hill plays host to Pasadena Poly today at 3:30 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — The host Sea Kings rolled to a 25-6, 25-12, 25-14 Pacific Coast League triumph Friday to move within one win of clinching at least a share of the league crown.

Joey Booth had six kills and Weston Nielsen added five, while Parker Brown had four aces, five assists and three kills.

Nick Curci added 12 assists for the winners (17-8, 8-0 in league).

CdM plays at San Juan Hills Tuesday.

LOS ALAMITOS — Cody Caldwell had 14 kills and three aces to help lead the Sailors to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 Sunset League win Friday

Will Connelly had eight kills and Rusty Sary had five kills, while Zack Martin and Austin Bagby had three kills each for Newport Harbor (11-5, 6-2 in league), ranked No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Jackson Carmack had 25 assists for the Sailors, who play host to Marina Tuesday.

NEWPORT COAST — Senior Mattias Russo-Larsson had 16 kills and 14 digs and sophomore Cole Kirby added 13 kills and 11 digs for the host Lightning in their 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21 Academy League win Friday.

Freshman Kent Kawaguchi had 31 assists for Sage Hill (14-9, 7-1 in league).

The Lightning play at Brethren Christian Tuesday at 7 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Matt Thome won two events and was a part of two victorious relays for the Eagles in the nonleague meet Friday.

Thome won the 100 butterfly, setting a personal record 1 minute, 2.16 seconds. He also won the 200 freestyle and was on the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams that won.

Estancia will compete in the Orange Coast League preliminaries at Laguna Beach Tuesday at 2 p.m. The finals are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Laguna Beach.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Newport Harbor 17,

Tustin 6

NEWPORT BEACH — The host Sailors locked up second place in the Sunset League in the final regular-season game Friday.

Daniel Appel had four goals and one assist to pace the Sailors (9-7, 6-1 in league), who advance to the Division I playoffs, for which pairings will be announced Sunday.

Riley Robinson and Logan Heath each had three goals and one assist for Newport Harbor, which received seven saves from Jim Reed.

Jake Turner had two goals an assist for the Sailors.
