DUROCHER (Morton) Adele Eleanor

Adele Durocher passed away

on May 20, 2010 at Orange

Coast Memorial Medical Center

with family by her side.

Adele Morton was born on

November 6, 1916 in Penticton,

British Columbia Canada.

She was raised in the Pacific

Northwest, eventually moving

to Chicago, Illinois to work.

On a visit home during World

War II to Klamath Falls, Oregon, Adele met her future

husband, Andre Rene Durocher, at a town dance the

city fathers arranged for visiting soldiers. Adele and

Andy corresponded through the war and when Andy

was home on leave in 1945, Adele was invited by his

parents, Andre Joseph and Hazel Durocher, to visit

them in Newport Beach, California. She did not return

to Chicago, but married Andy on June 25, 1945.

Residing in Newport Beach, Adele and Andy raised

four children, Josephine, Denis, Monica and Therese.

Her grandchildren include Greg, Kathryn, John and

Andrea Maitrejean, Frank, Nicole, Evan and Marc

Durocher, Sean and Dylan Horton, and Stephen,

Danielle and Jennifer Wukawitz. She also enjoyed five

great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandson

due in the next few weeks.

Adele was active in St. Joachim Catholic Church

in Costa Mesa with the Catholic Daughters, Ladies

Auxiliary and other volunteer groups. She enjoyed

watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

grow, baseball, scrap booking and visiting with her

many longtime friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Andre and

daughter Josephine. She is survived by Denis Durocher (Judi),

Monica (David) Horton, and Therese (Doug) Wukawitz,

13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was held at St. Joachim Catholic

Church.
