Registered sex offender arrested
One of three men convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Orange County ex-Assistant Sheriff Don Haidl’s home in Corona del Mar has been arrested on a possible parole violation, authorities said Tuesday.
Kyle Nachreiner, 25, was arrested Nov. 15 by state parole board officials with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officials declined to say how the Murrieta resident allegedly violated his parole, and state officials did not return calls for comment. Nachreiner was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Riverside.
Nachreiner, Keith Spann and Greg Haidl, son of Corona del Mar resident Don Haidl, were convicted of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Haidl’s garage in Corona del Mar in 2002 and videotaping it. The elder Haidl was the government’s key witness during former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona’s corruption trial in 2008.
The three men were sentenced to six years in prison and mandatory registration as sex offenders. They were released early for good behavior.
Nachreiner was released in 2008 as a “high-control” parolee, the state’s strictest standards.
At that time he had a GPS device attached to his ankle, met with his parole officers twice a month, underwent random drug and alcohol screenings, and was forbidden from contacting his accomplices or the victim.
