FOA offers $500 recovery grants to artists
The Festival of Arts has launched a new grant program to provide some financial assistance for artists who need funds to cover expenses for cleanup and damage assessment of their homes and studios. The grants are intended to expedite recovery from the flood so the artists may continue to work.
“The recent rainstorm has caused much devastation in Laguna Beach and many artists have suffered loss and damages to their homes and studios,” said FOA Marketing Director Sharbie Higuchi. “In an effort to assist these artists, the Festival of Arts has made available grant funds to help meet their immediate emergency needs to cover expenses for initial clean up and damage assessment of their homes/studios.”
Artists who are at least 18 and live or work in a studio in Laguna Beach may apply for a $500 grant from the Artists Emergency Flood Relief Fund. A second $500 grant is also available. Artists who are interested must fill out a confidential application.
To apply, contact FOA President Fred Sattler at (949) 637-2367.
