Crimes can be reported online
COSTA MESA — Police are offering a faster way for citizens to report crimes to the department.
The Costa Mesa Police Department recently launched its new online reporting system, where citizens can make reports online and submit them to authorities.
People can report non-life threatening emergencies like harassing phone calls, identity thefts, lost property, hit-and-run accidents, thefts and vandalism all from their home computer. Citizens should only use this method when there’s no suspect information and they have a personal e-mail.
There is still the option of calling the Police Department at (714) 754-5252 or going there to report crimes, officials said.
Online reporting is available at https://www.costamesapd.org.
