Supervisors keep McDonald’s and add Carl’s Jr.
Flyers will have their choice of fast food burgers when John Wayne Airport opens Terminal C. The Orange County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to keep McDonald’s in Terminals A and B, and to sign a lease with CKE Restaurants, which will operate a Carl’s Jr. / Green Burrito in Terminal C, which is still under construction.
In advance of the vote, supervisors expressed concern that McDonald’s prices were more than 20% higher than the Carl’s Jr. prices, but they chose the Golden Arches anyway. Some supervisors and speakers pointed out that Carl Karcher, the founder of Carl’s Jr., was a prominent figure in Orange County history.
