Harmed seagulls found in Huntington
Nearly two dozen maimed seagulls have been recovered on or near Huntington Beach, and authorities say the injuries to the birds appear to be intentional.
The seagulls have been so severely harmed that they have needed to be euthanized.
The Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center has received 20 seagulls in the past two months, all with suspicious wing breaks.
The birds are protected by both state and federal law.
Anyone caught harming them could face a maximum of six months in jail, or a $15,000 fine, per incident.
Anyone with information about the seagull attacks is urged to call the Care Center at (714) 374-5587.
