Car stolen from Jeeps R Us

A Jeep was stolen from Jeeps R Us at 12:18 p.m. April 6.

A Hispanic male on a bike was reportedly seen getting into a Jeep on the lot and driving it away.

The Jeep was later recovered in Irvine, but the man who stole the vehicle was not found.

The Jeep was dropped off by a patron of the dealership for mechanical work. It was not property of the dealership. Keys were left in the car, and it was unlocked.

Possible overdose at Cliff Drive reported

Someone called authorities after thinking a woman was possibly overdosing on drugs at 1:15 p.m. April 7 on Cliff Drive.

The passerby didn’t notice anything at first glance but then thought the woman needed medical attention after closer inspection.

The female subject was taken to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, where she was met by her husband.

She refused treatment and was under observation for six hours.

There were no arrests, but an overdose was not ruled out.

Theft at the Cliff Café

A woman reported that her purse and wallet were stolen at the Cliff Café at 1:41 p.m. Sunday.

She reportedly left her belongings there and upon returning did not find them. Police reported that she had reason to believe that a Cliff Café employee had taken her belongings.

Shortly after, she reported the person had used her credit cards and charged $1,000 in her name.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities could not provide further comment on the case.

Collision on South Coast Highway

A traffic collision resulted in an injury in the 600 block at 8:30 a.m. April 7.

The two vehicles involved and debris blocked the roadway in the southbound lanes for 20 minutes.

One of the drivers was said to have facial injuries and a pre-existing injury, and they were transported to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach.

Panic attack ends in boyfriend’s arrest

A woman’s request for medical assistance for a panic attack resulted in her boyfriend’s arrest.

She called authorities to the 100 block of Cozumel at 8:45 p.m. Monday after experiencing shortness of breath.

After arriving at the residence, authorities noticed the boyfriend seemed under the influence. He was arrested for possession of concentrated cannabis possession and brought to the station. After a test, they were unable to confirm the substance and released him. The analysis from the Orange County lab is still pending.

House gutted after foreclosure

Grand theft inside a home was reported in the 600 block of Vista Lane at 2:12 p.m. April 2.

The owner of the property, Bankers West Mortgage, said the entire house had been gutted, from the windows to the toilets and fixtures, adding up to about $1 million to $1.5 million in losses.

The house was foreclosed on Vista Lane LLC in October.

Fred James of Bankers West Mortgage said he believes a managing member of the LLC wiped out the property, which is valued at $4.5 million.

The theft is under investigation, according to police.
