UCI’s Anteater is No. 4 most lovable mascot

Although many locals already know the charm of UC Irvine’s Peter the Anteater, now Reader’s Digest backs up his likeability in a new poll.

Its May “Best Of America” issue spotlights everything from quirky townspeople to favorite eateries and, of course, mascots.

UCI’s Peter the Anteater ranked No. 4 in the “Most Loveable College Mascot” category.

The Purple Cow at Williams College stole first, followed by the Fighting Pickle at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and The Blue Blob of Xavier University.

UCI and the other schools made the list because of a Reader’s Digest “Best” Facebook poll.
