Estimated $10,000 stolen from storage locker
A storage locker in Costa Mesa was broken into and about $10,000 in music equipment was stolen, police said Tuesday.
A locker at the 2075 Newport Blvd. location of Public Storage was reported broken into Monday, although the incident reportedly occurred June 2, said Costa Mesa Police Lt. Bryan Glass.
The owner of the equipment reported that the metal lock on the unit had been broken off, and about $10,000 in merchandise stolen, but Glass said that the amount in damages was only an estimate from the owner.
Another break-in was reported May 31 at the same location. The estimated loss in property was about $8,000 worth of camping equipment and a mini-refrigerator. The break-ins at the locker spanned a 15-day period, the renter told police.
