Man who offered ride reports stolen car

A man reported that his SUV was stolen by another man whom he offered a ride to.

The victim had given the man a ride around 2 a.m. June 16, from Long Beach to Laguna Beach, he told Laguna Beach police. When the two stopped for gas in Laguna, the victim said the man stole his vehicle.

The man wasn’t able to confirm the plates on his vehicle.

The victim never showed up to file a stolen vehicle report, Lt. Jason Kravetz said.
