Pretrial date set for pair accused of sex with a student

The pretrial for a teacher and former teacher charged with having sexual relations with a 17-year-old boy has been scheduled for Aug. 25.

Daniel Shepard, who retired from Westminster High School, and his wife, Gay Davidson-Shepard, who is on administrative leave from Mesa View Middle School, are set to appear at the West Justice Center in Westminster. The date was set at a hearing July 14.

Deputy District Attorney Angela Hong asked the court to have the Shepards surrender their passports, a motion that Judge John S. Adams denied.
