Free online e-book collection being offered to kids
A new free e-book collection is open to children at the library or at home.
Scholastic is offering children in pre-K to third grade access to BookFlix, an online e-reading program that offers videos of fictional storybooks accompanied by nonfiction e-books.
The program has 95 fiction-nonfiction pairings. About a quarter of them are also offered in Spanish.
The books have a read-along option, definitions of key vocabulary words, author biographies and interviews, and educational games and activities.
BookFlix can be accessed through the Orange County Public Library website at https://www.ocpl.org.
