The Beach Pit BBQ location in Ocean Ranch may not be replaced with a Nekter Juice Bar, according to Beach Pit BBQ owner Tim DeCinces.

He said Shea Properties did not “accept assignment” of Beach Pit BBQ’s lease to Nekter. DeCinces is friends with the owners of Nekter.

Update: However, Steve Schulze of Nekter said in an email Friday that Nekter is “definitely coming to Laguna Niguel.” He says the business has been in negotiations with Shea to move forward on a deal that would bring the juice bar to Ocean Ranch.

At this time DeCinces said he does not have plans to expand Beach Pit BBQ. He announced the closure of the Laguna Niguel location in September.

“We are committed to making sure the five stores we currently have put out the best BBQ possible at this point,” he said in an email. “Our Aliso store is only a few miles down the road from Ocean Ranch and is starting to really do well. We are putting out some great food there.”
