Girl’s condition unknown after overpass jump
A 15-year-old girl was in an unknown condition Tuesday and being treated for injuries she sustained after jumping off an overpass over the weekend, police said.
The Costa Mesa girl, now in a local hospital, jumped from the Bear Street overpass into the northbound lane of the San Diego (405) Freeway about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Phil Myers of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
She was expected to be evaluated by a psychiatrist.
The jump appeared to have been a suicide attempt.
