Let’s go Newport!

Newport Elementary School students got their cheer on at an awards ceremony for peers and parents at Flag Deck, a special morning announcement event Oct. 21 for the school community. Nine kindergartners and 34 first- through sixth-graders have been taking baton and cheer classes with Newport Harbor High School cheer coach Kristin Higman during an after-school enrichment program through the city of Newport Beach. The girls will perform with Newport Heights and Mariners elementary students at Newport Harbor’s junior varsity football game at 3 p.m. Friday at Davidson Field.
