Set clocks back, check fire alarms
It’s time to set you clocks back an hour this weekend, which means it’s also time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarm.
The Newport Beach Fire Department wants to remind the public that on Sunday when clocks “fall” back an hour, it’s a good time to replace the batteries on smoke alarms.
Smoke alarms save hundreds of lives a year, with a majority of house fires occurring overnight when residents are asleep.
