Man arrested on suspicion of tire slashing
Police arrested a Newport Beach resident at his home Thursday morning on suspicion of slashing the tires of 20 vehicles on the Balboa Peninsula in October and November.
Brandon Evan Bhaskar, 30, is suspected of vandalizing three vehicles on Oct. 28 in the 44th Street and Seashore Drive area and 17 others on Nov. 29 in the area of Lake and 33rd streets, according to a Newport Beach Police Department news release.
Police found a knife at Bhaskar’s home believed to have been used in all the vandalism. Police have not identified a motive at this time.
