Bicyclist dies after collision with BMW
A 79-year-old man died Feb. 29 after his bicycle collided with a BMW on Bolsa Avenue west of Able Lane, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The Westminster man was heading east on Bolsa when he was struck by a gold BMW sedan that was pulling out of a parking lot, said Lt. Mitch O’Brien.
The man sustained severe injuries. He was treated at the scene, then transferred to UCI Medical Center, where he later died.
The BMW driver, a 23-year-old Long Beach resident, was cooperative with police. He was not cited nor arrested, but the investigation is ongoing, O’Brien said.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call Officer Dennis Fulton at (714) 536-5670.
