Costa Mesa business students to showcase work
Student entrepreneurs will be showcasing virtual businesses that won national titles.
Costa Mesa High School’s Business Academy will present their entries — the Great Park Wildlife Center and Abeille — that won second and fifth places during a showcase of the program’s accomplishments from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa hotel, 3050 Bristol St.
The event is a fundraiser for Business Academy advisor Cheri Sheldon, who was recently diagnosed with liver cancer.
Business Academy students, under the guidance of teachers Sheldon Michael Sciacca and Jennifer Hays, created the virtual businesses, which includes planning out everything from soups to nuts.
The students will put on the presentations they gave at competitions and display their business plans, marketing plans, human resource manuals and sales catalogs.
