Daniel Craig Lueking - aka Danny or Mr. Wilson passed away June 17th at the age of 60 after a long battle with illnesses and finally succumbed to cancer at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. Dan was born Nov. 9, 1951 in McCook Nebraska. The family moved to California in 1956 and Dan quickly adapted to the southern California lifestyle.

After graduating from Costa Mesa High, Dan spent a number of years in construction before becoming a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America and spending the next 15 years as a gemologist in the family business. Dan met the love of his life and married Mary Elizabeth Gannon on June27th, 1987 and they were together happily to the end.

It was the long hours spent in his garage working on his truck and the hours spent in the back yard that he became affectionately know has Mr. Wilson on his street and was always ready to help his neighbors in any way he could. Danny truly was a “one-of-kind-guy” and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Dan is survived by his wife Mary Lueking, his parents Nial and Lois Lueking , sister Jane Golding brother Ed Lueking and his nephews Eddy and Jeffery Lueking and great nephew Dakota. There will be a private service for the family on August 3, 2012 and a celebration of life on August 4th at Bob & Jane’s in Costa Mesa.
