Laguna Beach city manager featured in web series

The California City Management Foundation released its latest video in a series that features city managers from across California.

In its 12th video, John Pietig, city manager of Laguna Beach, is in the spotlight.

“These videos feature candid interviews with city managers from across California talking about the council-manager relationship, their favorite accomplishments as managers and their love for the profession,” according to the website.

In his video, Pietig explains what his role is in working with the City Council and talks about some of the accomplishments he and the city have had.

“When I first became city manager ... my first week on the job we had a big flood,” Pietig says in the video. “And one of the most rewarding things that I’ve experienced is seeing the community come together, put all politics aside and work to help the victims from that flood, to help the community recover.”
