Annual garage sale Saturday
Neighborhood Congregational Church is hosting its annual Bargain Festival, commonly known as the 100 family garage sale, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive.
The event raises money in support of the church’s mission and ministry work in the local and global community, according to a press release. At least 10% of the proceeds will be given to local charity.
Lunch will be available for purchase as well. Free parking is available in the church’s parking lot. For more information, call (949) 494-8061.

Arts group hosting candidates forum
The Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts will hold a City Council candidates forum from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 15 from at the Laguna Playhouse in the Moulton Theater, 606 Laguna Canyon Road.
Candidates include Steve Dicterow, Jane Egly, Verna Rollinger, Robert Ross and Robert Whalen.
The discussion will be moderated by president of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Assn. Greg Vail, according to a news release. Doors will open at 10 a.m.
