A local private school is hosting author Denis Belliveau on Thursday evening to speak about why children need to be global citizens.

The Pegasus School, which serves mainly Huntington and Newport students, is inviting parents to the first lecture in a Distinguished Speaker Series from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the school theater, 19692 Lexington Lane in Huntington Beach.

Belliveau will share photographs from his book and show his PBS documentary “In the Footsteps of Marco Polo” about his journey along the 25,000-mile Marco Polo route from Venice to China and back through 21 countries in two years.
