Newport Beach Police Department promotes three

Three members of the Newport Beach Police Department were promoted in a ceremony Monday.

Damon Psaros was promoted to lieutenant, Randy Querry became a sergeant and Amanda Diaz was promoted to senior community services officer, the Newport Beach Police Department announced.

Psaros, a 14-year veteran of the department, will move from the traffic division to patrol where he will serve as a watch commander. Querry, who has been with the department 23 years, will serve as a field supervisor in the patrol division, and Diaz, a 10-year member of the department, will move to records, according to the announcement.

Among those at the ceremony were city officials, Police Department members, and friends and family of those being promoted, according to the department.
