Police: Three trash fires lit over weekend
Costa Mesa police and firefighters responded to three weekend trash fires along Newport Boulevard, police said Tuesday.
On Sunday, officers responded to a Dumpster fire at Eat Chow, 1802 Newport Blvd., and learned from a security guard that another trash container had been on fire and put out near the former location of the Helm bar, 1830 Newport Blvd., now the location of The Boulevard, according to Sgt. Cam Phillips.
Costa Mesa firefighters also responded to a trash fire in a concrete container near a bus stop at 23rd Street and Newport Boulevard, Phillips said.
It was unknown whether the incidents were related.
Anyone with information is asked to call CMPD Det. Sgt. Ed Everett at (714) 754-5395.
