City adopts anti-bullying proclamation
The Huntington Beach City Council adopted a proclamation Monday declaring October as National Bullying Prevention Month in Surf City.
The Huntington Beach Human Relations Task Force drafted a report on bullying in the city and recommended adoption of the proclamation as a first step in combating bullying.
The task force also developed the proclamation, according to a news release.
The proclamation encourages schools, students, parents, community organizations and religious institutions to stay aware and find ways to prevent bullying in an effort to make Huntington Beach a safer place for everyone.
