Laguna police arrest man in connection with drug incident
Laguna Beach detectives arrested a Hawthorne man on drug charges Friday after an extended investigation that first began months ago locally, police said.
Kevin Odel Lott, 42, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs for sales, possession of ecstasy and being a felon in the possession of handguns, Capt. Jason Kravetz said in a statement.
Early Friday morning, detectives served two search warrants at homes in Hawthorne, which led them to discover thousands of pills, including ecstasy, as well as marijuana, Kravetz said in a statement. The street value of the drugs is being determined.
Police also seized $140,000 in cash, an $80,000 Mercedes-Benz S550, a $40,000 Chevy Tahoe, a $40,000 Mercedes-Benz R Class, a $35,000 Dodge Charger and two handguns.
Authorities believe the items and cash were attained through interstate drug trafficking, Kravetz said. The investigation stemmed from a drug incident in Laguna months ago, he said.
