Briefly In Public Safety
Laguna Beach firefighters are asking the community to help spread the holiday cheer to those less fortunate.
The fire department kicked off its annual Spark of Love Toy Drive campaign, and is asking residents to donate a new, and unwrapped, toy or piece of sports equipment to any of the city’s fire stations through Dec. 24.
“The Spark of Love Toy Drive is particularly special for our firefighters, as it provides us the opportunity to work together with our community in making the holidays a much brighter place for a less fortunate child,” said Laguna Beach Division Chief Dan Stefano in a press release.
The drive is part of the Orange County Toy Collaborative, which helps get donated toys to 300,000 children who might normally get nothing for the holidays.
Toys can be dropped off at any of the city’s fire stations:
•Station 1: Forest Avenue and Third Street
•Station 2: Agate Street and Glenneyre Street
•Station 3: Alta Laguna Boulevard and Tree Top Lane
•Station 4: 2nd Avenue and Virginia Place
